Lakeside Park Elementary School, located in Hendersonville, Tennessee, has been a cornerstone of the Sumner County Schools district since opening in the early 2000s. Positioned near the scenic Old Hickory Lake, the school was established to meet the needs of a growing suburban community and has flourished alongside the area’s continued development. Starting with just a few hundred students, it now serves over 330 children from Pre-K through 5th grade.
From the beginning, Lakeside Park has emphasized academic excellence, consistently ranking among the top-performing elementary schools in Tennessee. Its students regularly surpass state averages in reading and math proficiency, and the school has earned recognition from U.S. News for its strong academic performance and equity outcomes. A supportive student-teacher ratio and an inclusive, community-driven atmosphere contribute to its success.
The school values a nurturing environment where students can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. With a diverse student body and a dedicated team of educators led by Principal Kristy Petty, Lakeside Park offers a range of programs including Title I support and gifted education. Family involvement is encouraged through an active PTO and regular school events.
As Hendersonville continues to grow, Lakeside Park Elementary remains committed to innovation and excellence in education. Plans for future improvements include expanded facilities and enhanced learning resources to ensure students are well-prepared for lifelong success.
