Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten is an exciting and important first step in your child's educational journey! Kindergarten lays the foundation for lifelong learning by building skills in reading, math, social-emotional development, and more.
What Is Kindergarten?
Kindergarten is a full-day program for children who are 5 years old by August 15 of the current school year. It is designed to help students develop essential academic and social skills through hands-on learning, structured play, and daily routines. Tennessee law requires children to attend kindergarten before entering first grade.
What to Expect:
- Safe and Supportive Classrooms: Caring teachers guide children through engaging lessons and activities tailored to their developmental needs.
- Focus on Early Literacy and Math: Students begin learning letters, sounds, numbers, shapes, and early problem-solving skills.
- Social-Emotional Growth: Children learn how to work with others, manage emotions, follow directions, and build confidence.
- Creative Exploration: Art, music, movement, and play are all part of the daily schedule to encourage creativity and curiosity.
Getting Ready:
Before school starts, make sure your child:
- Complete the skyward registration for kindergarteners
- Has had a health check-up and vision screening
- Is practicing routines like dressing independently and using the bathroom on their own
We are excited to welcome your family to kindergarten and support your child every step of the way!
